Guided Hikes with a National Park Ranger

Watch eagles and vultures in Krumltal, hike through centuries-old Rauris Virgin Forest, or be there when the stags are in rut. Experience the nature of the national park up-close and discover a wealth of fascinating information about Hohe Tauern National Park, its flora and fauna, its origins, and about Rauris Valley. During National Park excursions, nature lovers are able to discover the heart of Hohe Tauern National Park.

The following excursions are included free of charge with your Rauris Valley and Taxenbach Guest Card and the National Park Card in summer: "Rauris Virgin Forest", "The Valley of Vultures" and "Stag Rut in the National Park". Further details are available from our local tourist offices in Rauris and Taxenbach. 

 Excursions to Rauris Virgin Forest

Dates:every Monday from 08.07. to 02.09.2024
Meets:Lenzanger car park at 1 p.m. (returns ca. 5 p.m.)
Fee:Euro 12 per person, children and youths (ages 6 - 16) accompanied by a parent are free. Guests with Guest Card or National Park Card free.
Registration:not required
Total Walking Time:ca. 3 hours, 200 m vertical gain
Requirements:moderately difficult excursion, hiking or mountaineering shoes with a tread are a must.
Others:The bus no 640 will take you from Rauris town center to car park Lenzanger and back (against payment).

 Excursions to "The Valley of Vultures"

Dates:every Wednesday from 12.07. to 06.09.2023
Meets:Krumltal car park at 8:45 a.m. Open end at Bräualm at ca. 1 p.m. 
Fees:Euro 12 per person, children ages 6-16 accompanied by a parent are free. Guests with the Guest Card or National Park Card are free.
Registration:not necessary
Total Walking Time:3 hours (400 m in vertical gain)
Requirements:moderately difficulty summer excursion, hiking or mountaineering shoes with a good tread are a must.
